Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson's move to Al Ettifaq could make big progress this weekend, according to a new update regarding his future.

The 33-year-old has been a wonderful servant for the Reds over the years, arriving back in 2011 and initially suffering a tough spell at the club, with his exit even possible early on.

"The Saudi club are confident the move will now be completed soon, putting an end to the England international’s glittering 12-year Anfield career. Liverpool are expected to agree a fee of around £10million for their skipper, who has two years left on his deal."

The thought of Henderson no longer being at Liverpool is a strange one, but it does feel like this is the end, assuming an agreement is reached over the amount he leaves for this summer.

While the Englishman was way below his best last year and his past his peak as a footballer given his age, he still has plenty to offer for club and country, and could have taken up James Milner's squad role moving forward.

It looks as though Henderson isn't happy doing that, though, potentially being irked by no longer being seen as a key man, and if his move now doesn't go through, the situation could become awkward, having made it fairly clear that he wants to depart Anfield before the new Premier League season gets underway.

Ideally for Liverpool, Henderson would still end up staying put, even though he may have a bit of work to do in winning the fans back, but that would be a surprise at this point, and it feels far more likely that he has played his final game for the club following 12 memorable years at Anfield.

The summer transfer window officially opened for business last month and it has been a busy few weeks for Celtic for several reasons.

He averaged a Sofascore rating of 7.11 or higher in each of his last three league seasons with Ajax – a score that would place him within Celtic's top ten performers last term – whilst Tielemans achieved a rating of 7.00 or higher in each of his five years with Leicester.

These statistics suggest that the potential is there for Van De Beek to be an excellent option for Rodgers in midfield as an attacking threat, in the same way that the Belgian maestro was for him at the King Power Stadium for a number of years, if he can recapture his Eredivisie form.

Therefore, Celtic could secure a superb signing for their squad ahead of next season if they are able to strike a deal with Manchester United to sign the Dutchman on loan before the deadline.

Arsenal have contacted Manchester City to make an offer of €16m (£14m) for Kyle Walker, while they are also interested in his teammate, Julian Alvarez, according to a recent report.

Like Abu, Livramento also spent 11 years at Stamford Bridge without being given a shot at first-team action. However, after impressing for the Saints in his first season, before being restricted to just two outings last season due to injury, the 20-year-old could be on his way back to the Premier League.

Chelsea are one of a handful of big-name sides in the running to sign Livramento, meaning Martin is in need of a new right-back to plug the gap. Besides the fact they are both right-backs with Chelsea roots and a similar age, there are plenty of other similarities between the two players.

For example, Abu – who stands at 5 foot 10, picked up four yellow cards in Premier League 2 last season, matching the number received by Livramento from his 20 appearances in that competition in 2020-21 prior to joining Southampton.

The report states that Spurs may be reticent to move due to Maguire's £190,000 per week salary at the Red Devils; however, a loan move may emerge as a potential option for the 30-year-old in the transfer window.

ESPN understand that both Tottenham and West Ham United have been offered the chance to acquire Maguire, with Erik Ten Hag said to be open to letting go of his club captain.

As per Football Insider, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has agreed personal terms with Manchester United and looks set for a move to Old Trafford as long as both clubs can come to an agreement over a fee for the player.

Mateo Kovacic could also be set to depart Stamford Bridge and is said to be in talks with Manchester City over a transfer to the Etihad Stadium, according to talkSPORT.

Cobham academy product Conor Gallagher is being eyed by West Ham United as David Moyes looks to add some depth to his midfield at the London Stadium ahead of next term, as per FootballTransfers.
