A high-scoring stalemate was looking likely until Durham brought on leg-spinner Scott Borthwick with eight overs left and he took three wickets.Borthwick struck with his second and fifth deliveries to trap William Porterfield and Mohammad Yousuf lbw. Porterfield was well forward, but Yousuf stayed back and tried to paddle around the corner. Unlike the first innings, when he was caught behind, the former Pakistan captain did not look too dismayed by the decision as he departed for a duck. Borthwick struck again in his fourth over when Ian Westwood was caught at short leg off bat and pad for 27.Blackwell showed uncharacteristic restraint when Durham resumed on 230 for 5, needing a further 50 to avoid the follow-on. He took 32 balls to add to his overnight five, while Dale Benkenstein scored only 10 in the first hour. The shackles were removed by the introduction of Paul Best.The 20-year-old student is making his Championship debut in place of fellow left-arm spinner Ant Botha who is out for four to six weeks with a knee injury, and that has given Warwickshire a problem after winning their first two games.Best did pick up two late wickets, but not before he had conceded 50 runs in eight overs. Blackwell got underway with a driven four and swept six in the same over and runs continued to flow when the new ball was taken.The stand was worth 161 when Benkenstein was bowled for 75 – his fifth half-century in seven innings – as Boyd Rankin produced a good spell after lunch. Despite his watchful start, Blackwell reached 50 off 79 balls and his only real scare came on 99.On 98 he scampered a single to mid-off and when the throw ended up at long leg he went back for the second. Andrew Miller hit the stumps and Blackwell was given the benefit of considerable doubt.There were 15 fours and two sixes in his 142-ball century, and he looked intent on turning it into a big one until he was run out for 125 in a mix-up with Callum Thorp. He was last out with the total on 465 when he was bowled for 15 by Best, the ball after driving him for a huge straight six.Warwickshire had 31 overs to bat after tea and lost Varun Chopra with the score on 19 when he pushed forward and edged Thorp to wicketkeeper Michael Richardson. They then looked like surviving without further mishap until Borthwick left them battling to avoid defeat on the final day.

أكد عمر الغنيمي نائب رئيس نادي سموحة، أن الاختلافات مع فرج عامر في وجهات النظر فقط، مشيرًا إلى أن هذا طبيعي، ولكن الغريب إثارة الأمر على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي.

Domingo, 13 de maio de 2018, por volta de 5h da manhã. Fagner se revira na cama. Tenta, mas não consegue dormir. Pensa. Sabe que, dali algumas horas, seu futuro estará em jogo. Dependerá de uma imagem. Da análise de Rodrigo Lasmar, médico da Seleção Brasileira que iria vistar o Corinthians para examiná-lo. A tensão toma conta. O alívio demorará para chegar. Chegará, mas sem moleza.

O anúncio da convocação da Seleção Brasileira para a Copa do Mundo, na segunda, dia 14, veio por volta das 14h05. Ali, o sofrimento de Fagner deu lugar à realização. Foi o desfecho de dias que pareciam terríveis, mas acabaram da maneira sonhada, nos sonos que Fagner não dormiu. Ele admite: temeu pelo pior quando se lesionou no duelo contra o Atlético-MG, no dia 29 de abril. O estiramento na coxa direita ameaçava jogar tudo por água abaixo.

-A minha angústia maior era saber a gravidade da lesão. A gente que é atleta, vive do corpo, a gente sabe quando tem algo mais forte, algo mais fraco. Só queria pensar na extensão e gravidade da lesão, e ao mesmo tempo já comecei a pensar que talvez pudesse ser algo pior, que eu tinha de ter cabeça boa para a recuperação, e acho que isso influenciou – afirmou o lateral, em entrevista ao LANCE! no dia seguinte à convocação para a Copa.

– Cabeça boa, não se preocupar com o que poderia acontecer. Isso fez com que as coisas evoluíssem muito bem, eu estar bem, me apresentar próximo de 100% para estar à disposição depois do primeiro, segundo, terceiro treino – completou o lateral-direito.

Nesta quarta-feira, Fagner completa 18 dias de recuperação. Aprovado por Lasmar, que deu aval para a convocação, acredita que chegará quase 100% para a primeira fase de treinamentos, a ser iniciada na próxima segunda-feira na Granja Comary, no Rio de Janeiro. Mas aquela manhã de domingo pré-lista ainda não saiu da cabeça.

-A ansiedade e angústia maior. Sabia que estava sendo tratado pelos melhores do Brasil, um dos melhores do mundo, o clube tem suporte muito grande, mas dá angústia de você ver o exame ali na hora, de repente o que o doutor fosse tirar de conclusão. Mas a evolução foi muito boa desde o primeiro exame que ele viu. Logo em seguida você fica aliviado, porque a lesão está melhorando – lembra.

Mas Fagner não poderia imaginar que um pequeno detalhe fosse aumentar ainda mais a angústia. Ele foi examinado no domingo e no mesmo domingo a CBF informou que estava apto a disputar a Copa do Mundo. Porém, foi só Tite começar a anunciar os 23 nomes para o coração dele e dos familiares disparar. É que o chamado teve uma pequena fuga de script.

Tite, como de praxe, começou pelos goleiros e em ordem alfabética. Falou o nome de Alisson, depois Cássio, Ederson. Em seguida, anunciou os defensores. Ou seja, laterais e zagueiros. Começou pela direita com Danilo. Logo, Fagner teria de ser o próximo. Não foi. Pulou para Filipe Luis, lateral-esquerdo. E depois Geromel. Marquinhos. Miranda. Como assim? Fora? Fagner!

O nome do lateral-direito só apareceu depois de Miranda e antes de Thiago Silva. Pronto, podia explodir. A perna tremeu, mas deu tudo certo. Fagner recebeu o abraço efusivo da esposa, os filhos pularam de alegria. Até o cachorro da família fez parte da festa, registrada em vídeo publicado na internet depois. Final feliz. Mas que dureza…

Agora, Fagner volta a focar na recuperação, pois tem uma disputa de posição com Danilo e uma Copa, seja como titular ou reserva, pela frente. São dúvidas. A certeza é onde ele quer estar em 15 de julho próximo.

The PCB has asked Sri Lanka Cricket “for their views” on the prospect of playing their series later this year in Pakistan instead of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka were the last team to play international cricket in Pakistan – their tour in March 2009 was cut short after terrorists attacked their team bus as it was on the way to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the second Test.That attack, on the back of growing security concerns over the previous two years, brought to an end international cricket in the country, taking away the 2011 World Cup in the process.The two sides are due to play a full Test and limited-overs series in October, scheduled in the FTP officially as a ‘home’ series for Pakistan. Until now the series was due to take place in Sri Lanka, but after a meeting between PCB chairman Ijaz Butt and Pakistan’s interior minister Rehman Malik on Thursday, the government is keen on bringing international cricket back to the country.”The government wants this [series to be held in Pakistan],” a senior PCB official told ESPNcricinfo. “We have asked SLC again to let us have their views on the issue.”The prospect of the series actually taking place in Pakistan remains a distant one. So far the government has only passed on verbal instructions to the PCB, who in turn have written to SLC. As of Saturday, when a SLC official was asked about the development or whether the board had been approached, he told ESPNcricinfo: “Not to my knowledge.”Most of Pakistan’s major cities – where such a series is likely to be played – have been targeted fairly recently by terrorist attacks, within the last year in the cases of Lahore and Karachi. At the beginning of this month Osama bin Laden was killed in an operation by US forces in Abbottabad, a town not far from the country’s capital Islamabad.Pakistan have played their ‘home’ series since the Lahore attacks at a number of venues; a series against South Africa was arranged in the UAE. In 2009-10, they broke up a full tour of New Zealand by playing the ODIs in Abu Dhabi and the Tests in New Zealand itself. They used England as a venue for two ‘home’ Tests against Australia last summer. Pakistan is also, incidentally, in talks with SLC over staging their series with England over the turn of the year in Sri Lanka.Afghanistan will actually become the first international team to play in Pakistan next week when they take on Pakistan ‘A’ in three 50-over games. Interestingly enough, one of the games was arranged for Abbottabad, but after the meeting between Butt and Malik the venue was switched to Islamabad.

England’s bowling options for their five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka have been given a boost following Tim Bresnan’s recovery from a calf strain. He has been included in the squad after completing a successful rehabilitation, and will be available for selection for Tuesday’s first match at The Oval.Bresnan was a key member of the team that won the World Twenty20 in the Caribbean last May, but he really shot to prominence during England’s Ashes and World Cup winter in 2010-11. He played a pivotal role in the decisive Test win over Australia at Melbourne, and went on to claim five cheap wickets in the thrilling tie against India at Bangalore.However, Bresnan missed the ODI series in Australia due to his calf problem, and underwent a further scan prior to England’s ten-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka in the World Cup quarter-final in Colombo. Since returning to England, he has been dogged by the problem, and was ruled out of the Test series against Sri Lanka after suffering a tear while bowling for Yorkshire against Hampshire in mid-May.”We always had the intention of bringing him back when he was fit. We wanted him to play for Yorkshire so we didn’t take any risks,” Alastair Cook, England’s one-day captain, said. “I saw him a couple of days ago and he looks in good shape. To have a proven performer back in the side is great for us.”Bresnan’s nagging accuracy and deceptive pace, not to mention his confident lower-order batting, make him an invaluable member of England’s one-day set-up. After England’s toothless display in the one-off Twenty20 at Bristol on Saturday, there will be a strong temptation to pitch straight back into the starting line-up.
