América-MG e Goiás se enfrentaram, na noite desta sexta feira, pela série B do Campeonato Brasileiro. Ambas equipes ainda não ganharam na competição, após o empate em 1 a 1 no Independência. Ruy e Jean Carlos fizeram os gols da partida.

O América, jogando em casa, começou pressionando, deixando o Goiás em situação desconfortável. A equipe esmeraldina só conseguia chegar ao gol do América através de bolas paradas. A pesar do ímpeto do América, o gol não saiu nos minutos iniciais.

A partir dos 20 minutos o jogo esfriou. Muitos erros e poucas chances de gol. A melhor chance foi com Bill, aos 30. O atacante recebeu, invadiu a área, ficou cara a cara com Marcelo e chutou em cima do goleiro, que fez boa defesa. Depois o América cresceu de novo e criou muitas chances. O Goiás se segurou e evitou o gol até o intervalo. 0 a 0 depois de 45 minutos.

A segunda etapa começou movimentada. América e Juventude trocavam passes e chegavam com perigo ao go adversário. Aos nove minutos, depois de receber passe de Gérson Magrão, Ruy cortou para a perna esquerda e encheu o pé para abrir o placar para o América. Depois, o panorama do jogo não mudou. O Coelho cresceu e passou a dominar a partida, criando as melhores oportunidades. Apesar disso, não teve forças para matar o jogo.

Já no final, aos 37 minutos, depois de falha do zagueiro Messias, a bola sobrou para Jean Carlos dentro da área, que bateu de primeira, sem chances para João Ricardo. Um gol achado pelo Goiás, em uma partida que parecia já ter seu final definido. O América depois até tentou o segundo gol, porém havia pouco tempo e a partida foi encerrada com o placar empatado em 1 a 1.

Graham Roberts believes that Tottenham and David Levy must be ruthless and get rid of their deadwood.

However, Spurs have put several other first-team players up for sale. Notably, the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, but the Colombian played 90 minutes against whist the latter two were unused substitutes against the Premier League champions, which would suggest they could be in Santo’s plans.

Should Harry Kane stay at the club, it’s likely to be a case of selling some before buying for the Spurs boss, who’s already added three new faces to his squad and spent more than £60m.

Spurs are expected to move on a couple before the transfer window slams shut later this month, but Roberts has urged his former side to get a move on with their business:

كشفت صحيفة “سبورت” الكتالونية أن نادي برشلونة سوف يبدأ بمجرد الانتهاء من حل أزمته الاقتصادية العمل على إتمام التعاقد مع لاعبين في نافذة الانتقالات الصيفية.

أعضاء برشلونة، أول أمس الخميس، وافقوا على بيع 49% من “BLM” (تراخيص وتجارة برشلونة)، وبذلك سوف يحصل النادي على 200 مليون يورو، وبمجرد الحصول على المبلغ سيكون قادرًا على التعاقد مع لاعبين جدُد وقيدهم في قائمة الفريق.

ومن شأن هذه الصفقات أن تُعزز صفوف فريق برشلونة بقوة، إذ سيحصل على رأس حربة، وهو بحاجة ماسة لواحد مثل ليفاندوفسكي، كذلك فإنه يريد تحسين صفوفه الدفاعية بأي طريقة، ووصول الثلاثي ألونسو وأزبيليكويتا وكريستنسن سيكون مُهمًا جدًا لتحسّين المنظومة الدفاعية.

كما أن أن تدعيم خط الوسط بلاعب يملك قوة بدنية مثل الإيفواري فرانك كيسي، سيُساعد تشافي في خطته وطريقة لعبه مع النادي الكتالوني.

وقالت الصحيفة إن خوان لابورتا رئيس النادي، يعلم أن التعاقد مع اللاعبين الخمسة سيجعل النادي الكتالوني أفضل، وسيمنحه قوة أكبر على أرض الملعب، من أجل العودة بقوة للمنافسة على الألقاب المحلية والأوروبية.

Aston Villa are battling Premier League rivals Spurs for the signing of Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie in this summer transfer window.

What’s the story?

The Athletic claimed last summer that the McKennie was a target for Johan Lange and co, with Villa among a number of teams interested in luring him away before his eventual move to Italy to join Juventus – reports in fact even suggested that the 22-year-old had specifically asked about Villa and their interest.

Now, Italian publication Sport Mediaset have claimed that the Bianconeri are willing to let the USA international go this summer, with “strong interest” from both Villa and fellow Premier League side Spurs.

He’s perfect for Dean Smith

At just 22, McKennie has already built up a wealth of experience, playing not only top-level football at club level with the likes of Schalke and Juventus in both the Bundesliga and Serie A, but also at international level too, playing 24 times for the USA.

Juventus and Italy icon, Andrea Pirlo, is a big admirer of his, calling him a “rock” and saying: “He’s young and can improve a lot. In my opinion, he’s a midfielder who can play as a No 8 in a three in midfield, right or left. He gets in the box and scores goals but he’s also very good at winning the ball back. His role is in a three in midfield as one of the two players on either side of the regista. Last year we played in a different system, so he had to adapt.”

Dubbed as an “outstanding talent”, the £22.5m-rated McKennie is as Pirlo says, a real box-to-box threat. While the end product hasn’t always been there – he’s only scored 11 goals in his short career thus far – all the key elements are: the power, the pace, the tackling and the energy to get up and down the pitch.

As per Whoscored, he has an impressive career average of making 1.3 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game, while also managing just a shade under one shot and key pass per match too – a real indication of his all-action style of play.

Given his age as well, he fits perfectly into the profile of signings Dean Smith has generally made this summer – the likes of Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia in particular.

Young, with bags of potential and plenty of room to grow, but also with considerable top-level experience already.

وقال تشوكونيري في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “جول” العالمية: “لم أتوقع أن هذا الأمر قادم، لكن دون أدنى شك، أثبت أونيي أنه عنصر أساسي في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز من خلال أدائه في ألمانيا”.

وأضاف: “قد يجادل الكثيرون بأن ليفربول في ذلك الوقت كان لديه محمد صلاح وساديو ماني وروبرتو فيرمينو، لكن تظل الحقيقة أن أونيي لم يُمنح هذه الفرصة لإثبات جدارته”.

Em tarde de treino técnico, a quarta-feira foi dia de preocupação e evolução no CT da Barra Funda. Enquanto Rogério Ceni comandava os trabalhos com quem está à disposição, Wellington Nem avançava em sua recuperação de artroscopia no joelho esquerdo. Mas Buffarini e Chávez foram confirmados como desfalques para o jogo de domingo, contra a Ponte Preta.

Os dois argentinos sofrem com problemas musculares. O lateral direito já não esteve à disposição contra o Palmeiras, no último sábado, por conta de um estiramento na coxa direita. O atacante Andrés Chávez, por sua vez, está com um edema na coxa direita. Ambos nem apareceram no gramado nesta tarde, passando o período em tratamento no Reffis.

Wellington Nem, por sua vez, realizou trabalho físico mais intenso no campo. Operado em abril, o atacante já está liberado pelos médicos e realiza exercícios para aprimorar seu condicionamento. Ainda não está no nível necessário para voltar a jogar.

Também no campo, mas apenas realizando movimentos leves com bola e alternando velocidade sob orientação de fisioterapeutas, estavam os volantes Wesley, em recuperação de estiramento na coxa direita, e Araruna, aprimorando a forma física após estiramento na coxa esquerda. No Reffis, ainda havia o volante Thiago Mendes, que trata lesão no joelho direito.

Nenhum deles estará à disposição de Rogério Ceni para enfrentar a Ponte Preta, no domingo, em Campinas, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro. Com os atletas que não sofrem com problemas físicos, o técnico comandou um trabalho em que dividiu o elenco em quatro times, com dois se enfrentando em pequenos campos. A equipe volta a treinar na tarde desta quarta-feira.

He was 67 and had been in ill health for a number of years.Worrel, a useful opening swing bowler, learnt his cricket under, among others, Lala Amanath, and he earned his nickname, Worell, after bowling the Frank Worrell in the first over of a friendly match for Patiala in the 1950s.He made his debut aged 14 for Patiala in the Ranji Trophy in 1954-55, failing to take a wicket. He had to wait almost seven years for his next first-class outing, this time for Southern Punjab. In six matches for them over five seasons he took 11 wickets, six coming in one innings when he took 6 for 17 against Jammu and Kashmir in 1963-64.After finishing his playing career he went on to coach school and college teams in Chandigarh.In later years he was dogged by ill health, suffering from diabetes and heart problems. He had to have a foot amputated and also had several heart attacks. At the time of his death he was almost penniless.”When I look back today, I feel I would have been better off as a labourer since the game gave me nothing,” he told the Tribune in 2005. “This is the fate of a sportsman in our country. Today, I feel deserted, unwanted and dejected. Looking at my state of affairs I have arrived at the conclusion that it is very important for a cricketer to be born into a rich family. The ordinary man gets nowhere in the game, gets left behind in the race to the top.”I’ll never regain my lost glory but I long for a piece of sky as I stand on the cricket ground. It’s a dream. I wish I can stand again, live to realise it,” he said. “I want this misery to end. I deserve a better end.”
