O Flamengo anunciou nesta terça-feira o seu novo uniforme para a temporada, com inspiração em camisas da década de 80, com as listras mais grossas. Para o lançamento, o modelo foi o principal jogador do time, o meia Diego. Outro que também postou fotos com a camisa nova foi o volante Willian Arão.

Para divulgar o novo uniforme do clube para as temporadas 17/18, foi usada a hashtag #EuSou. Willian Arão e o perfil oficial do Rubro-Negro no Twitter postaram frases com as fotos da nova camisa.

A ideia é de que o uniforme seja usado pela primeira vez contra a Universidad Católica, pela Libertadores, no Maracanã, em jogo válido pelo Grupo 4. A venda do novo ‘manto’ deverá ser iniciada nesta quarta-feira, com o preço de R$ 250 para adultos e R$ 230 para mulheres e crianças.

Sheffield United have agreed a deal to bring Ronaldo Vieira to Bramall Lane this summer.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by Football Insider, who claim that, following intense negotiations with Sampdoria, the Blades have finally agreed a deal with the Serie A side regarding the 23-year-old.

It is reported that the midfielder will move to the Championship club on a season-long loan, with a view to making the move a permanent switch at the end of the season.

The report goes on to state that Sampdoria are happy to sanction the departure of the 23-year-old in the summer transfer window, as the former England U21 international has fallen down the pecking order at the Italian club.

Jokanovic will be buzzing

With the departure of John Lundstram having left Sheffield United short of options in the middle of the park ahead of the new Championship season – with Slavisa Jokanovic currently having only Sander Berge, John Fleck and Oliver Norwood in his first-team squad capable of operating in the centre of midfield – the news that the club have finally managed to bring in a new face in the position is sure to have left the 52-year-old buzzing.

And, while Vieira has not exactly enjoyed the best of times since moving to Sampdoria in what was a £6.39m deal back in 2018, the 23-year-old demonstrated during his time with Leeds United that he is more than capable of doing a job in the Championship.

Indeed, his best season for the Whites arguably came back in 2016/17, when, over his 34 Championship appearances, the £4.5m-rated defensively-minded midfielder made an average of one interception, 2.1 tackles, 1.2 clearances and won 4.4 duels per game.

These returns saw the man Ian Holloway dubbed “different class” earn a seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.78, ranking him as the club’s joint 11th-best performer in the second tier of English football that year.

As such, should United indeed manage to get a deal over the line for the £22k-per-week man this summer, and the England youth international goes on to replicate this form in the club’s upcoming Championship campaign, he could well go on to play a key role in helping secure United an immediate return to the Premier League come next May.

Bermuda had already wrapped up the three-match series by taking a 2-0 lead.Irving Romaine’s decision to field brought early success for Bermuda when Kyle Hodsoll had Ruvindu Gunasekera caught behind and bowled Trevin Bastiampillai for zero to have Canada in a spot of bother at 21 for 2. However, Bermuda were made to wait for more than 37 overs to claim their next breakthrough after Samad and wicketkeeper Bagai got together for their mammoth stand. Samad was the more aggressive of the two, striking 12 fours and two sixes during his century, while Bagai faced 123 balls for his 84.Canada, though, came back strongly, taking the last seven wickets for only 38 runs. They got their opening when Samad and Bagai were dismissed in the space of six balls. Tamauri Tucker, who had Bagai caught by Chris Foggo, went on to take three more wickets to finish with career-best figures of 4 for 56.Bermuda began poorly in their pursuit of the 277-run target, falling to 33 for 3, with Eion Katchay taking the wickets of Foggo and James Celestine. Though Romaine and Outerbridge repaired the innings by adding 90, the fact that they had consumed 145 balls for those runs meant that Bermuda were behind the asking-rate. Outerbridge was bowled by Qaiser Ali for 56 in the 34th over, while Romaine, after scoring 60, became Katchay’s third wicket. Trott and Hodsoll fell in quick succession, after which Jekon Edness, the wicketkeeper, and Delano Hollis, had no option but to bat out the overs in an unbroken 33-run stand as the required run-rate proved beyond their reach.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to sell enigmatic forward Anthony Martial this summer amid interest from Italian champions Inter.

What’s the story?

According to The Sun, Inter have identified the highly-rated 25-year-old as a potential replacement for Chelsea-bound Romelu Lukaku.

The report states that should the Belgium international complete his return to Stamford Bridge, the Nerazzurri will look to sign Martial on a season-long loan deal.

It goes on to state that although United’s preference is to offload Martial on a permanent deal, they would agree to a loan move as long as it included an obligation to buy in 12 months’ time.

The Old Trafford outfit are set to demand around £50 million for the versatile striker, a fee which would see the club recuperate the outlay they splashed out on the Frenchman six years ago.

Solskjaer would be fuming

Martial has often split opinion since arriving on English shores back in 2015, with inconsistent and lethargic performances often being sandwiched between moments of genius.

However, it seemed as though the former Monaco ace had gone up a level in 2019/20 when he bagged an impressive 23 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils.

He even added a further 12 assists in his 48 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, highlighting Martial’s ability to create as well as stick the ball in the back of the net.

Unfortunately for the France international, though, he was unable to build on his outstanding showing last season, with injury ending his campaign in March after he contributed to just 15 goals in 36 outings.

The arrival of former Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and the outstanding end-of-season form of Edinson Cavani threaten to push Martial down the United pecking order, but football director John Murtough could be heading for a transfer nightmare if he sanctions his sale.

While Martial can be incredibly frustrating at times, it’s important to remember his age and the immense pressure that comes with leading the line for the 20-time English champions.

At just 25, Martial has already racked up 78 goals and 50 assists in 258 fixtures for United, extremely respectable returns for a player who is yet to reach his peak years.

Yes, the £40.5m-rated gem may not be the first name on Solskjaer’s teamsheet next season, but the Norwegian tactician would surely be fuming to see him depart for San Siro this summer.

If United are going to challenge for major honours and fight on multiple fronts, then they’ll need significant strength in depth all across the pitch, and Martial offers that in multiple positions.

He has plenty of time to mature and develop into a consistent performer and Murtough may come to regret sanctioning any exit.

Graham Roberts has exclusively told Football FanCast that Harry Kane will be raring to go against Manchester City, amid a report from The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath that Nuno Santo will make a final decision on Saturday night.

Having reportedly skipped training ahead of his return for pre-season last Monday, the England captain looked to have possibly played is final game for his boyhood club.

But after releasing a statement on Friday which said he would never miss training and confirmed he would be returning to Hotspur Way the following day, Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed that the striker is available to face Pep Guardiola’s side.

Kane hasn’t played competitively since the Euro 2020 final against Italy more than four weeks ago and will only have a handful of days training under his belt by the time the champions visit north London this weekend.

Having started all but one of Spurs’ five pre-season games together, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Heung Min Son are likely to be the front three, but Roberts is confident Kane will play some part.

He told FFC:

“I don’t think he’ll start. Knowing Harry Kane how I know him, he would have been training when he was away, in the gym working hard.

“He won’t leave any stone unturned. He’ll be fit, but won’t be match fit, but he’ll be ready to go. It will be great if he does get on the pitch – if he does start or comes off the bench and scores the winner, that will be even better.”

The board however said it is yet to receive official word from him.”I am aware he is considering not making himself available for the captaincy,” Dr Donald Peters, the WICB chief executive officer, told on Saturday. West Indies’ next assignment is the Champions Trophy in September.West Indies were recently drubbed 5-0 in the one-day series against Australia at home, after losing the three-Test series 2-0. Gayle was apparently unhappy with the selection policy for the last two ODIs and also questioned the policy of experimenting with several youngsters against the Australians.Gayle has had mixed results as captain, winning two Tests out of five and seven ODIs out of 17. He led West Indies to two series wins in one-dayers, including an away victory against England last year, and against the touring Sri Lankans recently. He presided over a surprise win in the first Test against South Africa in Johannesburg but his side went on to lose the next two games and the series. His other Test win came against Sri Lanka in Port-of-Spain to level the two match series.Gayle has however struggled with injuries during his tenure, sometimes struggling to keep fit for an entire tour. He returned home from the tour of South Africa after suffering a thumb and hamstring injury and a groin niggle ruled him out of the Indian Premier League.
