Segundo a assessoria de imprensa do Tricolor, mais de 30 mil ingressos já foram vendidos para o novo Choque-Rei, agora por um mata-mata.

No duelo da última segunda, um total de 31.055 torcedores compareceu ao Morumbi para acompanhar o clássico pelo Brasileirão.

Para esta quinta, o sentimento da torcida é dúbio. Nas redes sociais, alguns são-paulinos se mostraram dispostos a promover um boicote ao jogo. Por outro lado, a Independente, maior torcida organizada do clube, divulgou nota onde diz que não convoca os tricolores, mas garante que a festa de apoio será a mesma de sempre.

O preço médio dos ingressos para este jogo teve aumento nos valores em relação à outra partida contra o mesmo Palmeiras. O ingresso mais barato subiu de R$ 20 para R$ 30. O de R$ 80, por exemplo, foi para R$ 100. Já o que custou R$ 130 no Brasileirão passou a custar R$ 180 na Copa do Brasil.

Manchester United played out an entertaining 2-2 draw away from home against Everton on Saturday afternoon, in their final Premier League trip to Goodison Park, one of English football’s most historic stadiums.

For about 70 minutes, the Red Devils were poor. Everton went into the halftime break 2-0 up, thanks to goals from Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure. The Toffees striker scored after a messy clearance from a corner by United gifted him the ball in space. It was a well-controlled finish from the 27-year-old.

Doucoure also scored from a bad bit of defending from United. He outjumped Harry Maguire, following a parry from Andre Onana, to nod over the Cameroonian goalkeeper and double the Toffees’ lead.

United started the second half just as poorly, but, the introduction of Alejandro Garnacho and young striker Chido Obi changed the game. They seemed much more fluid and three-dimensional in attack.

Captain Bruno Fernandes got his side back into the game, scoring a well-directed freekick. Just moments later, Manuel Ugarte picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box, and, after bringing it down on his chest, slammed home to equalise.

Everton were perhaps unlucky not to have a penalty at the death. Former Red Devils captain Ashley Young went down under pressure, but after initially being given on the pitch, the decision was overturned.

United’s standout player was, as usual, Fernandes.

Fernandes’ performance vs. Everton

Over the years, no matter how dire the circumstances, there has always been one player United can rely on. It is none other than their “Portuguese Magnifico”, Fernandes. Against Everton, it was no different.

The Red Devils skipper scored a brilliant freekick to kickstart his side’s comeback at Goodison Park. From 20 or so yards out, shooting from the left-hand corner of the box, Fernandes directed his effort into the far corner, with Jordan Pickford rooted to the spot. It was a smart finish.

Samuel Luckhurst, a journalist for The Manchester Evening News gave Fernandes a 7/10 for his efforts. He praised the United skipper for the way he ‘galvanised the team’ in the final throes of the game.

Indeed, Fernandes’ stats on Sofascore show just how influential he was on the game for United. Their number eight had 109 touches, created two chances and won seven out of 13 duels. His all-round contribution was vital, and he had more touches, and the second-most number of touches across all players.

On the whole, though, it was a poor performance from the rest of United’s side. In particular, the defenders struggled against the Everton attackers.

It was a tough day at the office for several Red Devils defenders. Noussair Mazraoui played well but was substituted after seemingly picking up a slight knock. Maguire did not have his best game after a spell of good form

However, Matthijs de Ligt was someone who really struggled. He arguably looked out of his depth against the fantastic Beto and was one of the culprits for bringing down Young in the overturned penalty decision.

Luckhurst gave him a 2/10 for his efforts, a scathing review. The journalist said he looked ‘overwhelmed’ and was ‘easy prey’ against the Toffees attackers, who really got the better of him across the game.

He did not place very highly in many of the key stats from the game, as per the table above. Defensively, he only won five from nine duels, less than 11 players on the pitch, and only managed one tackle. He played a backpass out of play, too.

Incredibly, the Dutchman was not a player United wanted to bring in last summer. According to ESPN’s Mark Ogden, the Red Devils, and their new ownership group, INEOS, “didn’t want” to sign the defender from Bayern Munich, in a deal that cost them £38.5m up front and £4.3m in add-ons.

It certainly makes you question, will the Dutchman be a long-term option for Ruben Amorim? If United’s board didn’t want to bring him in, there is no saying that De Ligt is someone the Portuguese manager might view as a long-term fit for his system.

After performances like that against Everton, it could well be the case that he is not someone who is a long-term option for the club.

The three-team three-match series will be played at the end of the West Indies Championship

Cricket West Indies has announced a new domestic red-ball tri-series, the Headley-Weekes series, which will be played at the end of the West Indies Championship, the regional four-day tournament.The series will feature three four-day matches and will be played from April 18 to 6 May at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua. Team Headley and Team Weekes (named in honour of George Headley and Everton Weekes) will be selected from the best performers in the 2023 West Indies Championship and players outside the starting West Indies Test XI. The new West Indies Academy will provide the third team.The 2023 edition of the West Indies Championship, which begins on February 1, will be played across five rounds of four-day games featuring six regional franchise teams.Johnny Grave, the CEO of CWI, said: “We are delighted to unveil the Headley-Weekes series, which is a new idea that will extend the four-day season, create more opportunities for our players to showcase their skills and will be a huge incentive for them to strive towards selection into our ‘A’ team, and ultimately our Test team. It will also provide some strong competitive red-ball cricket for our new West Indies Academy players as we continue to try to ensure that the next generation of players is being prepared along the pathway to international cricket.”Whilst the West Indies Championship is once again going to be played on a one-round, five-match basis, with the plans we have for our ‘A’ team and Academy, to go on overseas tours after the Headley-Weekes series, we expect our best players in the region will still play at least ten four-day games in the first half of next year.”The first two rounds of the championship will be played from February 1 to February 11 in Grenada and Antigua. The tournament will then have a break and resume on March 15 and run until April 1 for the final three rounds, which will be played in Trinidad.

“I thought to a man tonight, even the guys that came off the bench, you have to give them credit,” he said. “Even the boys on the bench kept supporting. It is important to me there is a real togetherness, and they certainly showed that on the pitch tonight.”

Sadly for Rangers and their fans, it appears as if they may not have Cerny, who has scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, at Ibrox for too much longer. Speaking to the Czech media, as relayed by The Daily Record, Cerny’s agent, David Nehoda, has now revealed that the 27-year-old will probably return to Wolfsburg when the season is over.

“I can’t say what will happen next, but I don’t think it’s very realistic for him to stay at Rangers,” he said. “His contract at Wolfsburg ends in the summer of 2027, so I would assume that the club will want to recall him, or there will be interested parties who would like to buy him.”

Nehoda went on to say that he is aware of interest from both France and Italy already, and that both destinations would fit the winger’s own ambitions: “I know Vaclav’s ambitions — to return to one of the top five leagues in Europe.”

Paul Stirling will join Ireland’s Test squad in Sri Lanka, and be available for selection for the second Test.Stirling, who went back to Ireland from Bangladesh after the white-ball leg of the series, and will miss the one-off Test starting on April 4, has become available for Test cricket following alterations in Ireland’s schedule. Stirling explained to the last week that he had opted to sit out of Ireland’s Test commitments this year to give himself a chance to rest amid a “jam-packed” 2023 schedule, but left scope for his plans to “change or evolve” in the way they now have.Ireland’s tour to Sri Lanka initially consisted of a Test and two ODIs, but the hosts’ attempt to get more red-ball experience led to the two ODIs being replaced by an extra Test.
