As furadas marcaram o início do jogo entre CRB e Sampaio Corrêa. Se pelo lado da Bolívia André Luis falhou na hora do chute, o Galo viu Diego Torres furar de maneira bizarra na marca do pênalti.

Apesar da superioridade técnica, o CRB não conseguiu envolver o Sampaio e o duelo ficou truncado. Melhor para o time do Maranhão, que aproveitou a sua chance e abriu o placar. Na jogada de Caio Dantas, a bola sobrou limpa com Marcinho, que mandou para dentro da rede, 1 a 0.

Logo nos minutos iniciais da etapa final o CRB chegou ao empate. Após a zaga tirar o cruzamento Magno Cruz, a bola sobrou limpa com Igor, que pegou de primeira e estufou as redes, 1 a 1.

O gol animou o Galo, que começou a rondar a grande área, mas cedia espaços na defesa. Em descida do Sampaio, Luis Gustavo saiu na cara do goleiro, mas chutou para fora.

A virada veio aos 31 minutos. Bill arriscou de longe e acertou o cantinho de Neguete, que pulou atrasado e viu ela morrer no barbante, 2 a 1.
Valente, o Sampaio apostou na bola parada e conseguiu o empate. Léo Gamalho cabeceou para trás, Victor Souza deu rebote e Joécio marcou presença para deixar tudo igual, 2 a 2.

No desespero de tentar o gol nos acréscimos, o Galo jogou a bola para dentro da grande área e criou boas oportunidades, mas faltou capricho na hora de finalizar.

وقدم دعبس المدرب الجديد للفريق، طلعت يوسف، مؤكداً على خبرته القوية وشخصيته القيادية، وقال: “طلعت يوسف لديه سيرة ذاتية قوية، نحتاج إلى مدرب بشخصيته مع الفريق في الوقت الحالي، وقد تم التعاقد معه لمدة سنة ونصف”.

Eddie Byrom, a 20-year-old opening batsman who recently broke into the Somerset first team, has signed a winter deal with Zimbabwe’s new domestic side, Rising Stars. Byrom, who was born in Harare and attended St John’s College, one of the top schools in the area, is on a two-year deal with Somerset but is yet to decide his national allegiance.”I spoke with Somerset about some options during the English winter to further develop my game. Overall I’m just really looking forward to experiencing first-class cricket in Zimbabwe and the different challenges it will pose compared to England,” Byrom said.With big names Brendan Taylor and Kyle Jarvis back in Zimbabwe, attention has turned to some of the country’s other expats scattered across the county scene, and it was Tatenda Taibu who contacted Byrom about the possibility of playing in his homeland.Not only is Taibu Zimbabwe’s convener of selectors but he also plays a role in development, having spent a significant part of the English winter touring with an academy side of young Zimbabwean players. Who will start for Arsenal vs Crystal Palace?

There could be a change in goal this week as Arsenal have now completed a move for Brentford's David Raya, who arrives on a season-long loan with a £27m option to buy.

However, Aaron Ramsdale has been the undisputed number one for two seasons now (playing all 38 games last term) and so it would be a shock if he was to lose his spot in the starting lineup just yet.

In defence, however, Arteta will be forced into mixing things up as a result of the unfortunate ACL injury which could keep Jurrien Timber sidelines for most of the season

The defender started at left-back last weekend and the Gunners do at least have plenty of depth in that part of the field. Speaking to the press about Oleksandr Zinchenko who's been out with a calf injury, Arteta told football.london:

"Alex has been doing really well. He's been training with us and, hopefully, we're going to have him very, very soon."

With that in mind, we think he'll make it back in time to start this one, although Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior could also be called upon if the Ukraine star can't quite make it.

Gabriel Magalhaes was surprisingly dropped against Forest, but without Timber out, Arteta may want to revert to his usually trusted centre-back option, so we expect the Brazilian to come back in.

He should start alongside William Saliba and Ben White – which would mean playing the exact same back four which started away against Palace for the opening game last season.

Thomas Partey was used as an inverted right-back on the opening weekend, but with the potential return of Zinchenko, he can step back into midfield and play the deeper role, allowing Declan Rice to push higher up into the left-eight position. Captain Martin Odegaard will, of course, start in his usual preferred position.

This means there is a debate on if and where Kai Havertz should start. Against Manchester City in the Community Shield, he started as a striker and with Gabriel Jesus still injured, the German could go up top again for this one – despite playing in midfield last weekend.

This may be harsh on Eddie Nketiah who started and scored vs Forest, but Arteta might want a little more height leading the line in an away game like this to help go long when trying to beat the opposition's press.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka should start once more on each flank after they both impressed in the opening match of the new campaign.

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares before the end of the summer transfer window, and a new update could give them more hope of signing him.

Do Aston Villa want to sign Nuno Tavares?

The Villans have already made some great signings this summer, with Pau Torres someone who will hopefully become a leader at the back, and Moussa Diaby an individual who should make them more potent in attack, following a bright start.

Another player who has been seen as a possible addition is Tavares, with reports in recent days suggesting a move to Villa Park could come to fruition before next Friday's transfer cutoff.

The 23-year-old seemingly has no future at Arsenal, having spent last season on loan at Marseille, with Mikel Arteta not considering him an important part of his plans moving forward. The left-back is now in a race against time to secure a move elsewhere in the coming days, and a fresh update further hints at Villa being his next destination.

What's the latest on Nuno Tavares to Aston Villa?

Speaking to Give Me Sport, journalist Ben Jacobs admitted that Tavares likes the idea of moving to Villa this summer and a move appears to be progressing, although there are personal terms still to be ironed out:

"The player has made it clear to Arsenal that he would like to stay in the Premier League, which is why the Aston Villa move is of appeal. For Forest, I think that one is now as good as dead.

"The other thing to say in all of this is just there would still be some work to do on personal terms as well. It's one to watch between now and the end of the window, but things are obviously progressing. On the Tavares side, regardless of where he goes, it's clear that he doesn't have a future at Arsenal."

Admittedly, Tavares' time at Arsenal hasn't panned out the way he hoped it would, but there is no shame in not making it at such a huge club, especially with someone like Oleksandr Zinchenko ahead of him in the left-back pecking order, among others.

The Portuguese could be an astute signing by Villa, though, coming as someone who can push Lucas Digne for minutes, particularly with the current first-choice left-back not exactly thriving in the role since arriving from Everton.

At 23, Tavares, you'd think, still has much more improving to do as a player, and he could flourish so much more by being handed more minutes. With Unai Emery having to juggle his squad across four different competitions in 2023/24, there would surely be plenty of scope for enjoying a healthy amount of action.

The Gunners man enjoyed a good spell at Marseille, with a "dream" debut being hailed by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, not to mention six goals coming his way in 23 starts in Ligue 1. That attacking threat could be a great addition to Villa's squad, and the fact that BBC pundit Garth Crooks has called him "brilliant" in the past is another sign that he could be a strong signing.
